Double Chocolate Banana Bread
• 3 ripe bananas, mashed
• 2 large eggs
• 1/4 cup brown sugar
• 1/2 cup granulated sugar
• 1/2 cup applesauce
• 1/2 cup salted butter, melted
• 1/2 cup dark cocoa powder
• 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
• 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips, divided
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
2. In a large bowl, mash the bananas until smooth.
3. Add the eggs, brown sugar, granulated sugar, applesauce, and melted butter. Mix well.
4. Stir in the cocoa powder, baking powder, and baking soda.
5. Gradually add the flour and mix until just combined.
6. Fold in 1 cup of the chocolate chips.
7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
8. Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup chocolate chips over the top.
9. Bake for 55–65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
10. Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
11. Slice and enjoy!
