Nashville Hot Mozzarella Sticks


Ingredients:


• 12 mozzarella string cheese sticks, cut in half

• 1 cup all-purpose flour

• 2 large eggs

• 2 tablespoons milk

• 2 cups Italian-style breadcrumbs

• 1 teaspoon garlic powder

• 1 teaspoon paprika

• Vegetable oil, for frying




For the Nashville Hot Sauce:

• 1/4 cup butter, melted

• 2 tablespoons cayenne pepper

• 1 tablespoon brown sugar

• 1 teaspoon smoked paprika

• 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

• 1/2 teaspoon chili powder

• 1/4 teaspoon salt




For Serving:

• Ranch dressing

• Pickle slices

• Chopped parsley (optional)












Directions:

1. Freeze the mozzarella sticks for at least 1 hour before breading.

2. Place the flour in one shallow bowl.

3. In a second bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk.

4. In a third bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, garlic powder, and paprika.

5. Coat each mozzarella stick in flour, then egg mixture, then breadcrumbs. Repeat the egg and breadcrumb coating for an extra crispy crust.

6. Return the breaded mozzarella sticks to the freezer for 20–30 minutes.

7. Heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

8. Fry the mozzarella sticks in batches for 1–2 minutes until golden brown.

9. Remove and drain on paper towels.

10. In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, cayenne pepper, brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, chili powder, and salt.

11. Brush or drizzle the Nashville hot sauce over the hot mozzarella sticks.

12. Serve immediately with ranch dressing and pickle slices.
